چکیده

Surface gravity wave interaction with a semi-infinite floating elastic plate in the presence of multiple undulations has been studied under assumption linearized water theory and small amplitude structural response. The is modeled using Euler-Bernoulli beam equation, whilst are categorized as an array submerged trenches or breakwaters. numerical solution obtained finite depth boundary element method validated semi-analytic shallow approximation. Bragg resonance occurs due to scattering surface waves by breakwaters irrespective plate. zero-minima reflection occur when width trench breakwater integer 0.6 0.35 times wavelength, respectively, number increases. In contrast isolation, non-zero minima Moreover, complete cycles less than breakwaters, structure. frequency occurrence zero minimum reduced plate, increases increase rigidity Time-dependent simulation free displacement deflection seabed demonstrated different cases.

Surface and Internal Waves due to a Moving Load on a Very Large Floating Structure

Interaction of surface/internal water waves with a floating platform is discussed with nonlinearity of fluid motion and flexibility of oscillating structure. The set of governing equations based on a variational principle is applied to a oneor two-layer fluid interacting with a horizontally very large and elastic thin plate floating on the water surface. Calculation results of surface displacem...

Scattering by a Semi-Infinite Periodic Array and the Excitation of Surface Waves

The two-dimensional problem of acoustic scattering of an incident plane wave by a semi-infinite array of either rigid or soft circular scatterers is solved. Solutions to the corresponding infinite array problems are used, together with a novel filtering approach, to enable accurate solutions to be computed efficiently. Particular attention is focussed on the determination of the amplitude of th...

Scattering of Capillary Waves In Front of A Semi- Infinite Dock In An Ocean With Porous Undulatory Bottom

The problem of scattering of capillary waves by a semi-infinite dock with a porous undulatory sea bed is attempted using perturbation technique. Two different eigen function expansions of the velocity potential function on the two sides of the surface discont inuity are constructed. An integral expression for first order reflection coefficient is arrived at involving the bottom shape function. ...

Interfacial waves due to a singularity in a system of two semi-infinite fluids

The three-dimensional interfacial waves due to a fundamental singularity steadily moving in a system of two semi-infinite immiscible fluids of different densities are investigated analytically. The two fluids are assumed to be incompressible and homogenous. There are three systems to be considered: one with two inviscid fluids, one with an upper viscous and a lower inviscid fluid, and one with ...
